Peacefully on Wednesday April 16, 2014, age 79 years with family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Carole (nee Lacroix). Loving father of David (Joanne), Darcy (Anita), Cheryl McKenny (Sean) , Donald and Cynthia Niemi (Shane). Cherished grandpa of 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Dennis and the late Drew. Dave enjoyed a long career with the PSAC, retiring as General Secretary of the National Joint Council and was a long standing member of the Carleton Golf and Yacht Club. Friends are invited to visit at the West chapel of Hulse, Playair & McGarry 150 Woodroffe Ave., at Richmond Rd. after 10 am Monday April 21, 2014 until time of Service in the Chapel at 12 noon. Memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
